Feast of Fright Cancelled
Hello Friends and Neighbors,
With sadness I share that we’re canceling the Angel’s Night Feast of Fright. The crew tried to overcome many obstacles to make this event happen, but fate was finally sealed when the high winds ripped apart our dining area canopy beyond repair.
Gregg and I are also dealing with a personal crisis – our landlord is losing his family home, and we are faced with eviction. We got our court papers this week to appear on Friday, which was our big prep day. It is quite possible that we may have to move in 10 days, which has been a frightening prospect with a 20-month old in tow. We have yet to locate a new place.
We looked at all factors, and decided collectively it was best to cancel the event, rather having you all out in the freezing cold – unshielded – to have dinner!
To those of you who pre-registered through Paypal, your refunds were processed today. If you gave us cash at Soup last week, we will contact you as well to arrange a refund.
We want to sincerely thank all of you for your support of the Corktown Community Kitchen. We feel this work is vital to a healthy local food system. Stay tuned, we will return!
Have a safe Halloween weekend,
